Ethics of the Image

I think photojournalism ethics should be situational because in somecase i think its okay to change a picture. Only if you dont change your picture so much that it changes the whole story of the picture from the original story it had.I dont think a photo can capature the truth because if some people look at a certain picture they might see a diffrent story then the photographer.I think editing is okay to like cut somthing out of the picture because its still the same picture. Just dont edit it and put like a airplane in it. Its important that they have clear standrad so the editor knows whats okay if a certain circumstands comes up like what happend with the stripper, when they thought it was too revealing.

Fashion Ethics

Some changes that they made to the model were the made her cheeks skinnier, lifted her neck, and made her eyes bigger

I dont think its okay to change people that much because if they were going to change someone that much, they should of just found someone that look like that. It also give girls a bad image of what you need to look like.

The types of change i think are okay were when the made it brighter and thats about it.

The diffrents i think are between photography and photojournalism are photojournalism its like was happening and its a truthful picture of whats happing and photography isent as truthful because they edit the picture.

Ethics Intro

The main point of the story was of a picture of Wisconsin's University football game. They wanted to show that they were a racially diverse school so they digitally altered the photo and put a black person on there, to show the people who look at the magazine that they have all races there.

I think that the University was wrong because if they wanted other races from their school on the cover they should of just took pictures of other races in stead if digitally altering a picture, because if people find out that they had to digitally put a picture on there, then they must not have that many races there, and therefor not be racially diverse.

I think this is the most unethical picture because you can tell its not her body because her head and her body are two diffrent colors

I think this is the least unethical because the picture does kinda look real, and their meeting really did happen.

Fluffy the dog smells a bowl of spegetti and as he trys to get a bite he falls in.
When Fluffys owner runs out off dog food, she leaves hungry little Fluffy at home while she goes to the store to buy dog food. As Fluffy wakes up he notices theres no food in his bowl, but then he smells somthing cooking and he jumps on the counter to see spegetti.Then he hears his owner coming, so fluffy decieds to dive in and hide from his owner.

In the busy streets on Peterborough, a duck name lucy stops traffic.
Lucy and her little baby ducks are on their way home from Heb and been waiting across the streets for hours waiting, and waiting to cross the street.While Lucy gets impaitent she decieds to take matters in her own hand and get her little baby ducks home for a nap.

John calls his wife to tell her he might be home a little late.

When john gets off of work he soon relizes there was a flood and his whole body is under water. He then relizes he will be a little late home and doesnt want his wife to worry so he decieds to swin over to the pay phone and call his wife

Is This Seat Taken?

In the picture the chairs are repeated, and it leads to the guy on the phone.

Multimedia Perspective

• The other skill in addition to photography the she needed to know to produce the slide show was social skills because she had to get to know all the people of Sugar Hill, because if she didnt get to know them I dont think they'd like her taking a bunch of picture of them.
• The effect of the slide show to me is kinda sadness because of the music thats going with the pictures and how the pictures are black and white it fit with the music.
• The most interesting multimedia effect to me was the map an dhow you could click on the little dots and it would tell you a story about the person living there.

Wrapping things up

1. What challenges did you encounter while trying to get close, capture real moments, and capture action or emotion? How did you deal with these?

Well when I went up close to people and tried to find a good angle to shoot at they'd stop what they were doing to look up to see what I was doing and then they would try to pose. So what i did to deal with it was tell them to ignore me and most of them did.

2. What technical aspects of photography (focus, exposure, composition) did you find yourself thinking about the most, and how did you make sure you did these correctly?

The thing I was thinking about the most was my focus on my subject and make sure that they stood out in the picture.

3. Describe how you attempted to use at least one of the advanced composition techniques when you shot.

One of my pictures was of lines, the picture had a row of computers pointing at a angle at a boy looking at a book.

• In the picture i think the photographer was standing probly in the stand because it kinda looks like their looking down at it because you can see the ground.

• I think the shutter speed is on fast because the car in action and they would have to have it fast to capture the moment.

• Also i think that the aperture setting is big because it looks dark outside and it would need more light to get the picture.

• The Focal length of len is probly long so they can see far because i know if i was at a race track thing i wouldent want to be all close up to a car driving that fast.

Simplicity

I pick this one for simplicity because theres a guy and a little girl in the picture, but in the picture its focus on the little girl.

The Rule of Thirds
I picked this one for the rule of thirds because the towers are in the lower left of the picture.While the smoke is traveling up and to the right.

Lines

I picked this one for lines because the red and white lines on the flag are leading straight to the guy.

Balance

i picked this picture for balance because where theri standing up to make the flag is looks even and balance.

Avoiding Mergers

I picked this picture for avoiding mergers because they took the picture at a low angle, So the focus is not on the guy but on the flag.

After Printing Post

Cleaned Negatives-washed them

Loaded Negative into enlarger-I put it in the tray thing then put it in the enlarger then closed the enlarger

Focused image-we used a microscope thing to look to see the crystal

Set aperture-twisted the knob

Made test strip-I put a black thing over my photo and moved it over for diffrent times to see which turned out better

Made Final Print-I put my paper down under the enlarger then set my timer and turned it on then put it in the chemicals

There wasent any problems with my negative, the only thing was they had water spots.

I think this is the picture with the most action. The action in the picture is the kids playing with the fire blowing the bubble thing.
